Major infrastructure projects are often shaped long before formal assessments begin. This presentation explores how early relationship-building, collaborative problem-solving, and informed planning can influence project outcomes, reduce risk, and support more sustainable decision-making.

Alto, a federal Crown corporation, is in the early stages of planning Canada’s first high-speed rail network between Toronto and Québec City. Building on a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between Alto and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, presenters will discuss how both organizations are working together to integrate environmental considerations into the early stages of project planning.
