Trennon Wint is a first year Master of Science in Planning (MScPl) student in the University of Guelph’s School of Environmental Design and Rural Development. With a rich academic and professional background in ecology, geography, and public policy, his development as a researcher has been motivated by a deep interest in the ways that human communities interact with, and are affected by, the natural world around us. Under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Brunet, Trennon’s current work seeks to better inform climate change adaptation practices in the natural resource sector, with a particular focus on mining operations in a northern context. Further areas of interest for Trennon include community-oriented and equity-based planning, climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions, and urban ecology.
Trennon is the 2024 Ontario Impact Assessment Award and Student Bursary Recipient from the Ontario Association for Impact Assessment (OAIA) for his paper entitled “Impacts of Today’s Decisions in an Uncertain Tomorrow: A Review of Adaptation in the Mining Sector.”
