Sonja Kosuta is Senior Director of Impact Assessment and Science Capacity NRCan’s Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS). In her role she manages delivery of the Government of Canada’s Open Science and Data Platform and coordination of NRCan’s science advice to Impact Assessment and related regulatory processes. Sonja joined OCS in 2022 from her role as Director of Forest Ecology, Partnerships and Planning at the Canadian Forest Service – Great Lakes Forestry Centre in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Sonja holds a PhD in molecular biology from Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France), an MSc in environmental sciences from McGill University and a BSc in chemistry from McMaster University.
